![]() My second room did not have the full-blown airplane noise from the air conditioner, but it was still a lot louder than regular hotel units. As a side note, the sink in that room drained slowly, a sign of things to come. I happened to be in the shower the next morning when it switched on, and the tub was vibrating from the unit in the next room. Every time it started up I thought I was standing next to the main runway at O'Hare Airport as a 747 was taking off, and to get some sleep I turned the thermostat much higher than my comfort level just so the noise would stop. The culprit was the air conditioning unit. The first room was changed at my request after one night, and that is the first time in my life I have ever done that. I have been there in the past and the rooms were ok, but this time was different. We stayed at The Orleans because we had a great deal. ![]()
